Sheboygan's Big Fish Board

The waters offshore of Sheboygan Wisconsin have produced some exceptionally large trout and salmon over the years.  The following is a list of the largest documented fish caught out of the port of Sheboygan starting in the calendar year 2001.  Any angler is welcome to enter their fish on the "Sheboygan's Big Fish Board".   You do not need to be a club member to register your catch. All fish must be caught in Sheboygan waters and the weight documented at either Coho Derby headquarters or at The Wharf.  A trophy will be awarded to all anglers at the end of the year and presented by the Sheboygan Area Great Lakes Sport Fishermen Club.  Awards will be presented at the club's banquet held in February.  Best of luck this season!

Club Fishing Contest Rules

The Sheboygan Area Great Lakes Sport Fishermen's club has been sponsoring a club fishing contest for more than 40 years. The “Big Fish Challenge” $500 cash grand prize will be awarded to one of the 5 largest fish caught out of the port of Sheboygan. The contest runs from May 1, 2024 to September 2, 2024. You must be a member of the club to participate in this contest. Cash prizes will be awarded for the adult division, while trophies will be awarded to the juniors. The awards will be presented at the club's annual banquet held in February 2025 for the largest fish in each category. The adult division will be paying out cash for the top 3 places following in all five Great Lakes species: 1st place - $75, 2nd place - $50, and 3rd place - $25. The winner of the $500 cash “Big Fish Challenge” will be drawn from the five members who have caught the biggest king, coho, rainbow, brown and lake trout. The blind drawing will be held at the clubs annual awards banquet. The four other participants not selected will each receive $75 cash. You must be a SAGLSF club member at least one day prior to registering a fish. A club member MUST have caught the fish. All fish registered must be caught on Lake Michigan or its tributaries. All fish must be weighted and registered at the Wharf (733 Riverfront Drive) the day it is caught. No frozen, discolored or altered fish will be accepted. The Wharf staff and the SAGLSF board members decision on registered fish are final. The biggest fish in each category is determined by weight. You must beat the current big fish by weight to get your name on the leader board. Rules infractions and/or protests will be heard by the clubs tournament committee. An official sign up sheet and standings board is displayed at the Wharf. The contest runs every year and is coordinated by club member Ed Kalmerton. The online standings board will be updated on a weekly basis, but the standings board at the Wharf is the official current leader board.
